Peripheral Neuropathy refers to damaged nerves within the nervous system and is one of the more common forms of neuropathic pain.
The peripheral nervous system carries messages between the brain, spinal cord (central nervous system) and the rest of the body, including the arms and hands, legs and feet. Peripheral neuropathy occurs when these nerves are damaged – this can result in pain, numbness or muscle weakness, especially in the extremities.
At Renaissance Health and Wellness, we first test to confirm that the patient is struggling with neuropathy, then identify its source after evaluating the strength of the pain.
Our Approach to Neuropathy
Dr. Chester Carlson explains our approach to peripheral neuropathy, where our goal is to help patients who are already on medication for neuropathy reduce their need for medication.
